Introduction to Github and Visual Studio Code
Welcome to this guided project. In this 2-hour long project-based course, you will learn how to “use GIthub to provide hosting for software development and Visual Studio to host code locally on your electronic device.” I know it seems like a lot by the end of the project will develop a better understanding of Github and Visual Studio Code. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions.
Use Python Regular Expressions to Process File Data
By the end of this project, you will use the python re package to create an application that verifies email form data from a file. Regular expressions are used to search for data patterns. They can be used to validate file or web data, and/or replace data when a match is found. In Python, the regular expression is compiled with a regular expression pattern. Then a string is passed to the regular expression engine where the search for the pattern match takes place. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions.
How to use Pathfinder commands in Adobe Illustrator
During this project, you’ll use the Pathfinder panel tools in Adobe Illustrator to cut and combine vector shapes. For practice, you’ll build a vector image of a planet with rings, sliced text, along with decorative designs made from basic objects. By the end of this project, you’ll be comfortable manipulating, cutting, and combining vector objects in Adobe Illustrator.
Intro to AR/VR/MR/XR: Technologies, Applications & Issues
This first course in the XR for Everybody specialization creates a foundational understanding of the differences between AR, VR, MR, and XR. The course provides learners with a broad overview of the rapidly evolving XR space and the tools to characterize future XR developments and assess their potential and limitations. It establishes key concepts and dives into the XR device landscape, helping learners to differentiate current and future platforms and devices as well as critique the use of VR or AR in applications. The course pivots in the second half to look more at how to shape the future of XR, by analyzing trends and raising issues such as COVID-19, social and ethical concerns, accessibility and equity, as well as privacy and security. The course comes with an honors track in which learners will try out and classify existing XR applications, pick technologies when designing solutions for various XR application scenarios, and dive into the issues contributing to the larger discussion around trends and the future of XR.
Create website videos with Canva
At the end of this project, you will have all the basic skills to create videos for your website using Canva, an online tool for creating and editing Marketing visuals. You will use the various design tools, colors and graphics offered by Canva. This project is intended for intermediaries, small business owners and startups who have little to no knowledge of graphic design. It is ideal to create professional videos for websites using various video templates offered by Canva.
Concept Art for Video Games
In this course we will talk about Concept Art. As a final project we will create a fully finished environment concept, ready for presentation. Throughout the 4 week modules will dive deeply into composition and digital painting techniques to bring your art skills to the next level! So, let's get started!
Client Needs and Software Requirements
This course covers practical techniques to elicit and express software requirements from client interactions.
How to Curve and Warp Text in Adobe Illustrator
After completing this project, you will be able to shape your text in many ways in Adobe Illustrator. First, you will learn how to curve your text and to adjust its features. Then you will learn how to warp your text. You will learn how to perform different warping techniques including warping your text in the form of any given shape. Curving and warping text in Adobe Illustrator allows you to create exciting text logos. The aim of this project is to familiarize you with basic and advanced options to curve and warp any text. By the end of this project, you will have created several simple text logos with guidance each of which demonstrates a different curving or warping technique.
CAM and Design Manufacturing for Mechanical Engineers with Autodesk Fusion 360
With design for manufacturing, our design process focused on the design over its cost, but always keeping in mind how parts needed to be made. With manufacturing at the core of a design, we're able to fix potential problems in the design phase rather than after production. In many cases, the end product is made up of an assembly of different pieces to simplify manufacturing or to achieve specific design goals. Each piece represents a certain tolerance and put together, things might not work or fit if they weren’t accounted for in the design. We'll take a closer look at design and detail for manufacture and create toolpaths to cut parts. Even if the end goal as an engineer isn’t to fabricate your own parts, it’s a valuable skill to understand how things are made and what design decisions can ultimately affect how something is created. After taking this course, you'll be able to: - Inspect a multicomponent assembly. - Identify manufacturing methods based on part inspection. - Create detailed drawings for manufacturing. - Practice creating toolpaths for manufacture. Evaluating Designs with Users
When designing systems that work for users, there is no substitute for watching them try to use the system to see what works and what doesn’t. In this UX course, you will learn how to design and conduct tests with users that will tell you how effective your design is for helping users do what they need to do, and how they feel about using your system. This course is part of the User Experience (UX) Research and Design specialization offered on Coursera. What you'll learn: Identify different approaches to user testing and their appropriate use Understand how to design an effective user test Understand how to run an effective user test to get the most information possible out of each encounter Analyze and report on user testing
