Daniel Goleman – Prologue – Social Intelligence Emotional and Social Intelligence (ESI) is defined as a set of competencies demonstrating the ability one has to recognize their behaviors, moods, and impulses, and to manage them best according to the situation. This course will give you the tools you need to be emotionally and socially intelligent in your workplace. Having the ability to master ESI gives employees a distinct advantage in their positions. It allows them to access their emotional center while managing their relationships with their team members. Competencies associated with emotional and social intelligence are often what separates an average performer from a great one. And, unlike our overall intelligence, emotional intelligence can be learned and improved over time. By the end of this project, you will have created a Token Board to use with your students. As teachers, we are always looking for ways to keep our students motivated and engaged. For students with special needs, a token board is a wonderful tool to provide the independence and choice they need in order to succeed. By using a token board, students can break tasks down into manageable parts and celebrate each step they accomplish through a reward that is suited to their interests. Throughout this project, we will work together to create a template that you can use as is or modify to meet the unique needs of your students and we will learn how to implement it with your students.

A Digital Artifact is an object that represents one’s learning. In today’s changing educational landscape, more courses call for a visual item as opposed to a “traditional” assignment or project. There is a multitude of free tools and software at our fingertips. This online course will provide tips, suggestions, and strategies for creating an interesting digital artifact in select, intuitive platforms. Excel is a spreadsheet that is similar in layout as accounting spreadsheets. It consists of individual cells that can be used to build functions, formulas, tables, and graphs that easily organize and analyze large amounts of information and data. While a mortgage calculator helps you to see how extra payments effect your principal amount. We will learn to create a budget both automatically and manually, step by step. By utilizing Microsoft Excel, you will reduce the burden of working with your lender to create an early payoff plan. It will allow you to create your own payment plan for your timeline.
