Roles & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager in the context of military vehicle sales is responsible for a multifaceted role. This

role includes conducting in-depth market research, generating leads, managing client relationships, developing

comprehensive sales strategies, and negotiating contracts. Additionally, the BDM is tasked with presenting the

company's capabilities at international exhibitions, organizing client conferences, maintaining client databases, and

documenting sales activities. Furthermore, they play a pivotal role in arranging client delegation visits, delivering

presentations, and, significantly, managing awarded projects for the production of armored vehicles. This comprehensive

position encompasses sales, marketing, client management, and project oversight, making it an integral part of the

company's success in the defense and military vehicle industry.

Market Research and Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential customers, market trends, and competitor activities.

• Analyse market conditions and customer requirements to develop targeted sales strategies.

• Create comprehensive sales strategies and plans to meet or exceed sales targets.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product development and production

capabilities.

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

• Identify and engage with potential clients within the defence, government and diplomatic sectors and well as

agents, partners and distributors.

• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.

Customer Relationship Management and Reporting:

• Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target organizations.

• Understand the unique needs and requirements of customers and tailor solutions accordingly.

• Record and document all sales activities, including client meetings, negotiations, and follow-ups. Maintain

organized records for reference and reporting purposes. Provide timely reports to the management.

• Maintain and update a comprehensive client database.

• Ensure accurate and up-to-date client contact information, interactions, and historical data.

• Track and report on sales metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Regularly update sales forecasts and provide insights for decision-making.

Proposal and Contract Preparation & Negotiation:

• Prepare and present compelling proposals, including pricing, specifications, and contract terms. Negotiate

contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.

Product Knowledge and Training:

• Maintain a deep understanding of the products and capabilities.

• Provide product training to clients and internal teams as necessary.

Compliance and Ethics:

• Ensure all sales activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

International Exhibitions and Conferences:

• Represent the company at international exhibitions, trade shows, and defence expos.

• Showcase our military vehicle products and establish connections with potential international clients.

• Organize and coordinate conferences, seminars, and events for clients.

• Provide a platform for clients to engage with our experts, discuss product updates, and address their specific

needs.

Delegation Visits and Presentations:

• Arrange visits of client delegations to our head office.

• Travel abroad to meet with clients, present company capabilities, and military vehicle solutions. Deliver

compelling presentations to clients, showcasing our products and addressing their specific needs.

Project Coordination for Awarded Projects:

• Manage awarded projects for the production of armored vehicles.

• Oversee project timelines and delivery schedule

• Coordinate with client regarding all documentation required export approvals of special products

• Coordinate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to meet project requirements

Desired Candidate Profile

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in the same
