GENERAL WORKERS & ARTISANS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Section 13 Trade Test or Section 26D as qualified electrician

First Aid and Competent B are an added advantage

Driver’s license and own reliable transport

Competency in working at heights

Medically Fit

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the maintenance & repairs of various Winders

Experience in Sinking and Shaft equipping

Equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance in the shaft

Legal requirements as per MHSA and knowledge of workshop procedures

Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: **********

Installation and maintenance of machinery including HT switchgear

Maintenance of quality engineering standards

Repair and maintain winders to mine standard

Report all incidents and accidents, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts

Risk assessments must be conducted for each task

Ensure tools and equipment are sufficient, in good condition and safe to use

All legal inspections must be conducted according to the time intervals and a true report recorded in the record book

Be responsible for sub-ordinates, maintenance schedule, Health & Safety in an area of responsibility

Ensure availability of spares and materials

Enforce good housekeeping
