Job Purpose
The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a support service to the Head: Office of the HOD and personally to the HOD.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in rendering a support service to a Senior Manager/Head of Department/Ministry.
Recommendation
Willingness to work irregular hours when required.
Key Performance Areas
Render administrative support services to the Head: Office of the HOD; Provide support to the Head of Department regarding meetings; Communication and liaison; Management and supervision.
Competencies
In depth knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation/policies/prescripts and procedures; Excellent interpersonal relations; Good verbal and written communication skills; Customer service orientation; Organising and planning; Confidentiality and discretion; Computer literacy in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); High level of communication; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Ability to work under pressure; Ability to work effectively in a dynamic office; Stress tolerance; Able to liaise with diverse people and attention to detail.
Remuneration
R 468 459 - R 561 894 per annum (Salary level 9)
