Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to assist in the promotion, administration, supervision and co-ordination of matters regarding Extended Enhanced Discount Benefit Scheme (EEDS) applications lodged by municipalities and to assist with the Western Cape Housing Demand Database (WCHDDB) administration support function.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Public Administration or similar field; A minimum of 1 year relevant experience in a human settlement working environment or similar.
Recommendation
Relevant supervisory experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Key Performance Areas
Supervise the capturing, processing and record keeping of EEDBS applications; Assist with the WCHDDB administration and support function; Assist with the HR related matters and administrative support to Assistant Director / Deputy Director / Manager of the sub-directorate; Maintain database and provide information related to Extended Enhanced Discount Benefit Scheme (EEDBS).
Competencies
Knowledge of the National Housing Code and Housing Subsidy Programs; Computer literacy in Ms office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Written and Verbal communication skills; People Management skills.
Remuneration
R 325 101 – R 382 959 per annum (Salary level 7)
Note on remuneration in addition to service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation granting permission for verification of qualifications, criminal record vetting and reference checks. These candidates will be required to complete a practical exercise and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
