Job Description
The Project Management Intern will support Columbia Forest Products’ growing Project Management Office by assisting in project coordination, documentation, reporting, and governance activities. This role is ideal for a student interested in project management, technology delivery, process improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration. The intern will gain hands-on experience with PMO operations, tools, project lifecycle activities, risk tracking, and stakeholder communication
Project Coordination & Support
- Assist in developing project plans, including scope, milestones, scheduling, and resource tracking.
- Update project management tools with current task status, risks, and issues.
- Help draft project documentation such as meeting minutes, project logs, status reports, and action-item lists.
Stakeholder Communication
- Support the scheduling and organization of project meetings.
- Prepare agendas, document discussion points, and distribute follow‑up notes.
- Assist in gathering requirements and feedback from stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Tracking
- Identify and log project risks and issues.
- Support development, tracking, and communication of mitigation plans.
- Help track dependencies and cross‑project impacts within the IT portfolio.
PMO Governance & Portfolio Support
- Assist with PMO reporting, portfolio dashboards, and metric tracking.
- Help ensure alignment with PMO frameworks, governance standards, and documentation best practices.
- Collaborate with PMO staff to identify process improvements and enhance project delivery tools.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, Technology Management, or related field.
