About the Opportunity:

This organization is developing accounting software that integrates real-time accounting, automation, and fintech tools to help startups and small businesses manage their finances. The Onboarding Specialist role focuses on guiding new customers through initial setup and education to ensure they understand their finances and use the platform confidently from the start.

Responsibilities:

• Lead one-on-one onboarding calls to set up customer accounts and workflows

• Explain bookkeeping and accounting concepts relevant to startups and small businesses

• Support data migrations from platforms like QuickBooks and Xero, ensuring accuracy

• Act as the primary contact via video, email, and chat during onboarding

• Identify gaps, risks, or opportunities and recommend onboarding best practices

• Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to improve onboarding

• Refine onboarding playbooks, templates, and documentation for scalability

• Ensure customers complete onboarding confident and informed

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of customer-facing experience in success, onboarding, support, accounting, or similar roles

• Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain complex ideas clearly

• Enjoys building customer relationships through direct communication

• Highly organized and able to manage multiple onboarding workflows simultaneously

• Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and processes

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience onboarding customers in B2B SaaS

• Familiarity with startup accounting tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, Stripe, Gusto

• Background in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping

• Experience working in startups or fast-growing companies
