About the Mentorship Role
We are currently seeking a volunteer mentor in UX Research, Product Design, or Human-Centered Design to support a college student transitioning into a career in user experience.
The mentee is:
- Pivoting from IT into UX Research / Product Design
- Interested in accessibility and inclusive design
- Exploring opportunities in digital product ecosystems and mobility design
- Seeking guidance on portfolio development, career positioning, and industry navigation
What You’ll Do
- Meet virtually with your mentee once per month (60 minutes) for 12 months
- Provide guidance on UX career pathways and specialization
- Offer portfolio and case study feedback
- Share insight into industry expectations and hiring processes
- Help refine positioning for internships or full-time roles
Ideal Mentor Background
- 5+ years in UX Research, Product Design, Human-Centered Design, or Accessibility Strategy
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with usability testing, stakeholder engagement, or research synthesis
- Passion for mentoring and expanding access to opportunity
