About the Mentorship Role

We are currently seeking a volunteer mentor in UX Research, Product Design, or Human-Centered Design to support a college student transitioning into a career in user experience.

The mentee is:

• Pivoting from IT into UX Research / Product Design
• Interested in accessibility and inclusive design
• Exploring opportunities in digital product ecosystems and mobility design
• Seeking guidance on portfolio development, career positioning, and industry navigation

What You’ll Do

• Meet virtually with your mentee once per month (60 minutes) for 12 months
• Provide guidance on UX career pathways and specialization
• Offer portfolio and case study feedback
• Share insight into industry expectations and hiring processes
• Help refine positioning for internships or full-time roles

Ideal Mentor Background

• 5+ years in UX Research, Product Design, Human-Centered Design, or Accessibility Strategy
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with usability testing, stakeholder engagement, or research synthesis
• Passion for mentoring and expanding access to opportunity
