About the job

Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician I will support laboratory operations by performing routine calibration and maintenance of inspection, measurement, and test equipment. This role focuses on learning and executing calibration fundamentals while maintaining accurate records within computerized systems. The position requires hands-on laboratory work, collaboration with technical teams, and adherence to established procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment including pipettes, timers, stopwatches, and digital clocks

• Maintain accurate calibration data and records within computerized database systems

• Perform scheduled, demand, and new equipment calibrations in accordance with procedures

• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace out-of-tolerance devices and components

• Support analysis activities focused on repair prevention and continuous improvement

• Work collaboratively with laboratory staff and management to learn and apply calibration techniques

• Follow written procedures, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines

• Perform additional duties as assigned by laboratory leadership

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to learn new skills related to calibration techniques and processes

• Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency with basic computer applications such as email and data entry tools

• Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and standard operating procedures

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work with tools and small components and remain seated for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous laboratory experience in a regulated environment

• Familiarity with good manufacturing practices and good laboratory practices

• Experience handling or calibrating pipettes or similar laboratory equipment

• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups
