Job Description

About the job

Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted

In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all.

About the Role

We’re looking for an Enforcement Specialist to join our Trust & Safety team at Hinge. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure a safe and respectful experience for our community. You'll investigate complex, gray-area user reports escalated from our moderation team and partner cross-functionally with teams like Risk & Policy, Global Escalations, Appeals, and Bad Actor Detection. You’ll play a key role in enforcing Hinge’s policies, identifying harmful patterns and trends, and supporting key safety initiatives that shape how we keep our platform safe. This is an hourly, entry-level role with a structured schedule and a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

Review nuanced, escalated user reports and determine whether they violate Hinge’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines

Identify and surface new and emerging user trends to the broader Trust & Safety team

Support user experience by responding to reports of harm submitted via email, including incidents that may have occurred off-platform

Answer ad hoc questions from third-party moderators about our guidelines and enforcement practices

Collaborate with our Global Escalations team to support users in crisis or emergency situations

Contribute to data labeling projects that improve safety-related machine learning and detection efforts

Conduct QA on moderator training to ensure high-quality enforcement outcomes

What We're Looking For

You’re empathetic and deeply thoughtful about how enforcement decisions affect real people

You’re an organized and detail-oriented communicator who can manage multiple time-sensitive tasks

You’re comfortable asking questions and eager to learn — and teach — new systems, processes, and guidelines

You thrive in both independent and collaborative environments

You can adapt to evolving systems and workflows

You’re capable of handling sensitive, high-stakes content with professionalism

Experience in content moderation or a customer-facing role is a plus, but not required

Role Logistics

This is a non-exempt, hourly position

You will be scheduled to work 10:00am–6:00pm ET on Sunday–Thursday.

Weekend shifts are required

Trust & Safety staff provide holiday coverage on a volunteer basis with additional compensation

This is a remote role with periodic in-person attendance required for team onsites at our New York office

As a member of our team, you’ll enjoy:

401(k) Matching: We match 100% of the first 10% of pre-tax 401(k) contributions you make, up to a maximum of $10,000 per year.

Professional Growth: Get an annual Learning & Development stipend once you’ve been with us for three months. You also get free access to Udemy, an online learning and teaching marketplace with over 6000 courses, starting your first day.

Parental Leave & Planning: When you become a new parent, you’re eligible for 100% paid parental leave (20 paid weeks for both birth and non-birth parents.)

Fertility Support: You’ll get easy access to fertility care through Carrot, from basic treatments to fertility preservation. We also provide a stipend towards fertility preservation. You and your spouse/domestic partner are both eligible.
