Job Description

About the job

Position: Development Associate

Location: Remote, with 5% of expected travel for in-person team meetings and events.

Deadline to apply: 5pm ET on March 12, 2026

Who We Are

We believe it is self-evident that all people are created equal, with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – and that government secures these rights with the consent of the governed. We call this the American Promise.

To achieve the American Promise requires effective government, fair markets, personal freedom, and representative democracy – and it starts, as the Declaration of Independence itself did, with the states.

Future Now is an effort to achieve the American Promise in states with high impact interventions. The Future Now family includes initiatives such as The States Project and The States Forum.

Position Details

This is a full-time, exempt, at-will position that will work across FN and affiliated initiatives. The team currently operates remotely, with occasional in-person team retreats, etc. Some travel will be required. Additional evening and weekend hours are occasionally required to fulfill the duties of this position.

The Opportunity

The Development Associate will have the opportunity to build and maintain the supportive tissue that upholds the Development Team and assists them in achieving their fundraising goals. Their primary focus will be on providing critical and seamless support for all Development Team members, including administrative support, data & database management, project management, donor prospecting, and operations tasks as needed. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Development Operations. The successful candidate will have a background in fundraising, exceptional communication skills, excellent project execution skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and critical thinking abilities, as well as a deep interest in understanding the intersection of policy and electoral work in American politics.

We value diversity at Future Now. Women, people of color, trans/genderqueer people, individuals with disabilities, and veterans are especially encouraged to apply.
