About the job
About eel
eel is a free, music-and-movies-first streaming network that turns releases into TV moments, live premieres, themed marathons, and curated channel, across Roku, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, mobile, and web. We’re also building eel Programming Studio, an AI-assisted tool that helps streamers schedule VOD and FAST channels in minutes.
What you’ll do
Assist in day-to-day programming of eel’s VOD rows and FAST channels (music videos, movies, docs, specials).
Help build weekly/monthly schedules using our internal AI tools (eel Programming Studio) and spreadsheets.
Maintain and update the content calendar for premieres, marathons, and special events (e.g., awards shows, World Cup, Watch & Win).
Coordinate with content partners and distributors to ensure assets, rights, and delivery timelines are met.
QA-check rails and EPGs to ensure no black slots, no wrong ratings, no broken titles.
Pull basic viewership reports and flag content that’s under- or over-performing.
Maintain eel’s master metadata spreadsheets for films, series, music videos, YouTube creators, and partners.
Research and fill in fields like genre, subgenres, synopsis, cast, director, year, country, maturity rating, tags, rights owner, and territories.
Standardize titles and metadata using internal style guides (e.g., how we handle long titles, multi-part series, or non-English films).
Perform quality checks on incoming avails and partner feeds; flag missing or inconsistent data.
Work with the founder and programming team to tag content for thematic rails.
Support ingestion into eel Programming Studio by ensuring files are clean, structured, and ready to feed AI tools.
What we’re looking for
1–3 years of experience in content operations, programming, media planning, or production coordination (internships okay).
Comfortable in spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel) and basic analytics dashboards.
Strong organizational skills and obsession with details (titles, runtimes, dates, rights).
Love movies, music videos, and TV, and have opinions about what works in a streaming grid.
Clear communicator who can work across time zones and juggle multiple deadlines.
Strong Google Sheets/Excel skills and comfort working with large spreadsheets.
Fast, accurate researcher (IMDb, TMDB, Wikipedia, official sites).
Passion for film, TV, YouTube, and music culture, with curiosity about genres and niches.
Detail-obsessed and comfortable doing focused, repetitive work that really matters. Ok
