About the job
We are seeking an experienced Nonprofit Bookkeeper/Tax Professional for a short-term, clearly defined project to review QuickBooks financials, process limited payroll payments, support 1099 reporting, and prepare and file Federal and State Form 990.
Responsibilities
- Review QuickBooks records for the fiscal year and ensure proper nonprofit account categorization.
- Identify and clarify questionable or unclear entries.
- Process payroll payments via Global Wire and/or Zelle through the organization’s bank account only as directed and pre-approved.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and QuickBooks support to resolve questions efficiently.
- Prepare and support processing of required 1099 forms.
- Prepare and file Federal and applicable State Form 990 in compliance with nonprofit requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with nonprofit bookkeeping and tax filings.
- Strong QuickBooks knowledge.
- Experience with payroll processing, 1099s, and Form 990 preparation.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and responsive.
Project Details:
- Rate: $35–$40/hour
- Hours: Not to exceed 10 total hours
- Engagement: One-time, short-term contractor role
