Position: Archivist – AI Trainer
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $59–$111/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Train, evaluate, and provide expert feedback to AI models on archival content to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Appraise, edit, and oversee the preservation of permanent records and historically valuable materials within AI workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data labeling and annotation standards.
- Conduct research to improve AI understanding and application of archival methodologies.
- Curate and organize digital archival materials to support model development.
- Document training processes and recommend improvements for continuous enhancement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to ensure accuracy and authenticity in archival interpretations.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience as an archivist, records manager, or related archival specialist.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to appraise, organize, and preserve permanent records and historical documents.
- Familiarity with digital archiving standards, metadata schemas, and archival best practices.
- Comfortable using remote collaboration tools and digital platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with a commitment to data accuracy.
- Interest or experience in AI, machine learning, or digital transformation initiatives.
