About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Administrative Support professional to join our team at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. In this role, you will serve as a vital first point of contact for patients, their families, and visitors within your assigned unit or department. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional administrative assistance, ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming environment for all who enter. You will utilize your excellent customer service skills to address inquiries, coordinate appointments, and support the clinical staff with various administrative tasks. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Clerical experience (Required)
- Healthcare experience (Preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic health records
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the assigned unit or department, including managing schedules, filing, and data entry
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, delivering outstanding customer service
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate appointments and communicate effectively with clinical staff and external providers
- Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations
- Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally, providing information or directing to appropriate personnel
- Support billing and coding processes as needed, collaborating with finance departments
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
