The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is seeking applications for a PhD candidate in the area of process modelling, simulation, and feasibility studies, with a focus on bio-based processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in advancing the economic and environmental feasibility of bio-based industrial processes through advanced modelling and simulation techniques.

Requirements

– Experience in modelling using Matlab or Python.

– Proficiency with process simulators such as AspenPlus or Hysys, including prior use in process simulation.

– Experience conducting techno-economic assessments for chemical or bio-based industrial processes.

– An academically relevant background in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.

– A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, corresponding to a five-year Norwegian course with 120 credits at the master’s level. Master’s students may apply, but the degree must be obtained and documented within 3 months of the position start date.
