Job Description

Key training components and proposed topics

Fundamentals of communication including but not limited to message development, crafting clear and compelling key messages, and adapting content for different audiences.

Advantages of effective communication highlighting its importance in both internal and external settings.

The communication process and different communication types (verbal, non-verbal, written, digital) across both internal and external contexts.

Presentation skills focusing on the qualities of an effective communicator, public speaking, storytelling techniques, pitching, and delivering presentations within and outside the organization.

Overcoming communication barriers such as language, cultural differences etc. that hinder effective communication.

Interpersonal communication by enhancing active listening skills and relationship skills to strengthen interactions.

Navigating various communication scenarios including media relations (e.g. interview preparation and management) and crisis communication protocols.

Deliverables

Hold an inception meeting with the Akili Dada procurement team to go through the

Terms of reference and scope of work.

Develop a course outline and delivery plan for the training and share with the point of contact at Akili Dada for review.

Develop and disseminate a needs assessment survey before the training and use the results to build on the course outline proposed.

Facilitate the training sessions and provide guidance on the need of follow-up sessions and/or one-on-one coaching sessions.

Provide an assessment report after the training outlining the findings and recommendations.

Support in implementing recommendations.

Qualifications

The ideal consulting company should possess the following qualifications:

Extensive experience in Strategic, Corporate and Internal Communications

Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills.

Extensive experience in facilitating and training.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, especially the ability to analyze complex information and make it simple and understandable.

Ability to work independently, with strong time management, planning, and organizational skills, close attention to detail and accuracy, reliability, flexibility, and follow-up.
