About the job

About ModernVivo:

90% of novel drug discovery projects will fail to succeed through human clinical trials – we’re setting out to fix that. We’re building comprehensive, data-driven software for life sciences researchers designing animal studies. Our core software elucidates study design insights from scientific documents to reduce inefficient animal use, accelerate preclinical development timelines, and improve the probabilities of success for drug discovery.

As a venture-backed startup, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact, assisting with customer discovery, future product development, and sales. Join us as our first operations team member and lead the charge in delivering world-class products for our growing user base of life sciences researchers.

About the Role:

We are seeking to hire an operations intern for a highly dynamic role. You will report directly to the CEO to assist with the development of the company’s future product roadmap, customer discovery efforts, marketing initiatives, and sales. Your day-to- day work can be fairly diverse, with projects ranging from customer outreach, helping plan in person events, and developing marketing/outreach campaigns.

This role would be a great fit for an MBA student (with a life sciences background) or PhD student interested in diving deeper into the business side of science.

While this role is currently only an internship, there is a possibility the role can become full time.

Role Overview:

year, with an immediate start date.

● Create marketing strategies that can be developed into new campaigns. This includes assisting team members with implementation of novel marketing strategies.

● Assist with existing customer maintenance and develop a community management strategy for new organizations.

What you’ll Gain:

● Direct exposure to pharmaceutical industry operations and challenges

● Experience with B2B software sales and customer relationship management

● Understanding of product development lifecycle in a startup environment

● Networking opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry

● Experience working with a young, innovative team where your opinions are not just heard, but can be put into practice.

** Required Qualifications:**

● A bachelor’s degree, ideally in the life science, but open to all areas

● We are looking for someone proactive, and can work towards goals with minimal oversight. You will always have support and direction from team members, but initiative and being a self-starter are a necessity.

● Someone who is creative and personable

We strongly prefer you to have:

● Previous in vivo research experience

● Experience building and maintaining a community. A good example is If you have started a club/organization where you have had to take on a dynamic role
