Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of the hospital’s support services, including biomedical engineering, facilities management, and Supply Chain. This role will ensure that hospital operations run smoothly, safely, and effectively, supporting clinical and administrative functions in alignment with hospital goals. The Head of Operations will work closely with senior leadership to develop, implement, and optimize operational processes, ensuring high standards of service, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and manage hospital operations in support services, biomedical engineering, facilities management, and supply chain departments.
Develop and implement strategic operational plans to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of these departments.
Collaborate with hospital leadership to align operational strategies with the hospital’s goals and mission.
Provide leadership and direction to department heads, ensuring staff development, motivation, and engagement.
Biomedical Engineering
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of medical equipment in accordance with regulatory standards.
Ensure that biomedical engineering staff are adequately trained, and that equipment is regularly assessed for performance, safety, and compliance.
Develop and manage the equipment lifecycle management process, including budgeting and procurement of new equipment
Facilities Management
Ensure the hospital’s physical infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Oversee building operations including utilities, housekeeping, security, and general maintenance.
Implement strategies to improve the hospital’s energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and health and safety standards.
Supply Chain
Oversee all aspects of the supply chain and procurement function, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory management, and logistics.
Ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven supply chain solutions to support hospital operations.
Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service agreements.
