Plant Manager

Job Overview:

The Plant Manager will oversee the operations of the power plant or energy facility, ensuring that all activities are executed in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

This role includes managing plant performance, maintaining equipment, leading teams, and optimizing plant operations for maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient energy production.

Ensure the plant operates at optimal performance levels, meeting energy production targets and operational KPIs.

Implement maintenance schedules and ensure the reliability of plant equipment and systems.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental laws.

Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency protocols.

Conduct regular safety drills, inspections, and audits to minimize risks.

Staff Management:

Lead, train, and develop a team of plant operators, technicians, and engineers.

Assign tasks and manage workforce scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.

Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

Coordinate and manage corrective maintenance activities to address unplanned outages.

Work with engineers and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues.

Financial & Budgeting Responsibilities:

Manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and maintenance.

Control and reduce operational costs while maintaining plant performance.

Monitor fuel and resource usage, analyzing efficiency to improve financial outcomes.

Process Optimization:

Analyze plant performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Implement best practices for energy production and resource management.

Utilize technology and automation to enhance plant performance and operational efficiency.
