JOB PURPOSE:
Preset the trays, offload and load all food and non-food items on the aircraft in a timely manner according to the airlines approved menu specifications and galley loading plans.
JOB CONTEXT:
Emirates Flight Catering based in Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest in-flight catering kitchens in Middle East catering to over 100 airline customers on a 24x7 cycle. Work in the Operations department is organized function wise and each function has a team of staff trained to handle the work requirements. The key challenge of the jobholder is to ensure on-time preparation and handling of the flights while maintaining accuracy as a priority.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Clear all the equipment relevant to the pre-setting and collect the food from the Production Department as per the catering orders.
2. Pack the cutlery, pre-set the meal trays, arrange the equipment needed on the flight and set up the trolleys.
3. Ensure at all times that food items are correctly stored in their designated areas in accordance with the laid down Hygiene Practices.
4. Assemble the flight requirements from all the sections according to the galley-loading plan, the packing list and menu specifications.
5. Offload and load the Hi-loaders with the food and non-food items as per the galley load plan, assist the policemen during the security checking and deliver all the items to the aircraft.
6. Ensure that the cutlery and crockery are clean and that the correct items needed on the flight are collected from the Production Coordinator on time.
7. Ensure that correct galley loading plans are always followed while preparing the food and non-food items.
8. Ensure that the food is kept in the cold room while waiting to be loaded to the aircraft in order to comply with the company*s established hygiene requirements while making sure that any exposure of food to unacceptable temperature and humidity levels is minimized.
9. Make sure that all standard items are ready before starting the loading process.
10. Offload the dirty equipment and load the food and other supplies to the aircraft in a timely manner according to the established the ramp safety marshalling and company procedures.
