Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shipping Operations Expert to join our team in Apapa. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience working with Maersk, CMA CGM, and PIL. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of cargo, managing all operational aspects from booking to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Booking & Documentation: Manage the entire lifecycle of bookings, issuance of Bill of Lading (BL), and submission of precise shipping documents to avoid demurrage or detention charges.

• Container Tracking: Monitor container movements and ensure timely pick-up and delivery of cargo.

• Crisis Resolution: Troubleshoot operational challenges such as port congestion, customs delays, and vessel schedule changes.

• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with terminal operators, clearing agents, and the representatives of major shipping lines (Maersk, CMA, PIL).

Requirements

1. Experience: Minimum 4-7 years post-qualification experience in shipping operations or freight forwarding.

2. Specialization: Must have worked extensively with Maersk, CMA CGM, and PIL and possess in-depth knowledge of their procedures.

3. Language: Fluent in Written and Spoken English (Communication with overseas principals is a must).

4. Skills: Proficient in MS Office and shipping software. Exceptional problem-solving and coordination skills.

5. Attributes: Results-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently under pressure.
