Job Description:
To design, implement, and continuously enhance training and coaching initiatives for the Direct Distribution Channel’s frontline sales team & Managers, driving productivity, capability building, and sales effectiveness aligned with the organization’s growth objectives.
Location- Mumbai, India
Designation- Lead - Sales Training (Direct Distribution)
Key Responsibilities:
1) Training Strategy & Execution:
• Develop and execute annual training strategy for the Direct Channel aligned to business goals.
• Identify learning needs through field diagnostics, productivity data analysis, and leadership feedback.
• Create differentiated learning journeys for new joiners and experienced front line sales team (FAs).
2) Coaching and Capability Building:
• Drive a culture of field coaching and on-the-job learning across the Direct Channel.
• Equip Training Managers with coaching frameworks to build field readiness and selling effectiveness.
• Personally lead train-the-trainer sessions to ensure effective knowledge dissemination.
3) New Hire Training & Onboarding:
• Build and deliver an intensive induction program to fast-track productivity of new hires.
• Design 30-60-90 days action learning plans for new FAs.
• Track time-to-productivity metrics and continuously improve onboarding effectiveness and drive early success and probation completion and retention.
4) Sales Productivity Enhancement:
• Link training initiatives to key sales KPIs such as lead generation, conversion, productivity per FA, Probation completion and persistency.
• Create intervention programs for underperformers and fast-tracking programs for top performers.
5) Content Design and Digital Learning:
• Collaborate with internal and external experts to design high-impact, practical sales training content (offline and digital).
• Drive adoption of e-learning, microlearning, and gamification-based modules.
6) Stakeholder Engagement:
• Partner closely with Direct Sales Leadership, HR, and Product teams to align training to business needs.
• Share regular training impact dashboards and insights with leadership.
7) Team Leadership:
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 8 Training Managers.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Graduate/Postgraduate (MBA preferred).
• 10–15 years of experience, with minimum 5 years in life insurance sales training (Direct Channel experience preferred).
• Proven experience in managing a multi-location training team.
• Exposure to coaching methodologies and field sales enablement.
