Key Responsibilities:
Ambulance Maintenance:
Ensuring the ambulance is kept clean and secure at all times, no unauthorized passengers.
Checking the vehicle daily to ensure that all systems - lights, brakes, horn, siren, tyres, signaling etc. are in good working condition and reporting problems / malfunctions immediately.
Checking and verifying that the engine oil, battery, brake fluid and fuel levels are adequate.
Ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained and stocked with spare tyre, spanner, emergency triangle, first aid box etc.
Updates and properly maintains the driver’s log book - mileage, record of trips and accounts for fuel consumption
Checking and notifying the Manager at least two weeks ahead of expiry of license and insurance.
Immediately reporting any incidents including delays, mechanical problems; accidents etc... - and taking appropriate action to rectify or solve the problem
Ensure the ambulance is well stocked with required medical items, documents and consumables, and all equipment are in good condition.
Assist with managing the dispatch desk - scheduling vehicles efficiently, booking & allocating drivers and vehicles to various transport needs and requests.
Keep a proper log of all bookings; Confirm bookings, handle of emergency calls, communicating with the caller to gathering pertinent info, and responding to and advising the caller appropriately.
Assessing patients at the scene & en route, communicating with medical personnel to determine the next course of action in patient treatment.
Ensure that Avenue Healthcare corporate governance policies are adhered to, including preventing, detecting, and reporting any fraud or criminal activities, and Implementing audit recommendations.
