Key Roles & Responsibilities
Transaction Handling:
Process customer payments using a POS system (cash, credit/debit cards, transfers, etc.).
Issue accurate receipts, change, and handle returns or refunds in line with company policy.
Maintain an accurate cash drawer and reconcile at the end of each shift.
Customer Service:
Greet customers politely and assist with inquiries or concerns.
Confirm and process takeout, dine-in, or delivery orders.
Ensure a smooth and friendly checkout experience.
Order Management:
Double-check orders before confirming payment to ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with waitstaff and kitchen to track pending or special orders.
Relay order issues or delays to customers and resolve complaints promptly.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
Maintain accurate daily transaction records and submit reports to management.
Assist with daily sales summaries, receipts balancing, and expense documentation.
Cleanliness & Organization:
Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Ensure all promotional materials and menus are up to date and presentable.
Compliance & Security:
Follow all cash handling procedures and company financial policies.
Report suspicious transactions or discrepancies immediately.
Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of customer data.
Requirements
Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing role (preferred).
Basic math skills and proficiency with POS systems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
