Accountant

Valuemart is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage financial records, ensure the accuracy of financial information, and support sound financial planning and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and management accounts.
• Manage budgets and monitor organizational expenditures.
• Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts.
• Monitor cash flow and support effective financial management.
• Conduct audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and performance reports.
• Advise management on financial planning and decision-making.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality of financial information.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Identify financial risks and recommend improvements to internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an added advantage.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, auditing, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Ability to prepare financial reports, meet deadlines, and comply with accounting standards.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
