Junior Backend Developer

We are an ed-tech startup building a specialized learning platform for healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses. As a Junior Backend Developer, you will have a hands-on role in creating and optimizing backend services using a Python-based stack. You’ll gain exposure to various technologies and play a part in shaping a robust platform, contributing to areas like authentication, API management, and data handling.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Junior Backend Developer with 2-3 years of experience to help build and maintain the core backend architecture of our platform. This role focuses on Python, PostgreSQL or MongoDB for data management, and AWS for cloud infrastructure. Experience with Docker, Git, and OAuth for secure authentication is required, and you’ll have opportunities to make a meaningful impact in a startup setting.

Responsibilities:

● Develop, deploy, and maintain RESTful APIs for mobile and web applications.

● Write efficient, clean code in Python (and potentially Golang) and participate in code reviews.

● Work with PostgreSQL or MongoDB to manage and optimize data storage.

● Use Docker for containerization to ensure efficient deployment and scalability.

● Implement secure user authentication and authorization using OAuth.

● Contribute to CI/CD processes, assisting with automation and continuous integration.

● Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize backend systems for a smooth user experience.

● Deploy services on AWS, supporting a reliable and secure infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

● Experience: 2-3 years of backend development experience.

● Python Proficiency: Solid skills in Python, with knowledge of frameworks like Django or Flask.

● Database Knowledge: Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

● Version Control: Proficiency with Git for managing source code.

● Docker: Understanding of Docker for developing, shipping, and running applications in containers.

● OAuth: Experience with OAuth for secure user authentication.

● API Development: Skilled in creating and managing RESTful APIs.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Python/Golang: Basic familiarity or interest in learning Golang for some internal services.(Optional)

● CI/CD Experience: Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.

● AWS Knowledge: Basic experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda).

● Security Best Practices: Awareness of security practices for API protection and data handling.
