To provide comprehensive administrative support to the clinical, medical and nursing staff on the In-Patient Unit at the hospital.
Take responsibility for managing the routine daily tasks essential for the effective administration of ward services, as well as ensuring a prompt and efficient response to non-routine events . Support and assist nursing staff in the day to day management of the ward, contribute to the care environment and carry out general administrative duties. Ward clerks juggle several duties on a daily basis.
Admission and Discharge Process
Facilitate the admission and discharge process
Serve as point of contact for all new patients admitted, patients who are getting discharged.
Assisting in discharge process in all the paperwork relevant to their medical situation.

Communication
Answering the telephone and conveying messages to appropriate staff and patients
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with
multi-professional team within the hospice and external agencies.
Provide a welcoming environment to the ward
Arrange out -patient follow up appointments
Sitting at the nursing station act as receptionist and the first point of contact for all queries and concerns
Organize Relevant Paperwork for Doctors and Nurses
Are responsible for providing clerical support to the RN , non clinical records and reports, admission consent, facilitating sick leave on the unit.
Follow up with billing , Insurance
Answering non-medical, administrative questions
Receiving patient feedback forms
Assist patients in arranging food for bystanders, wifi passwords, mobile charging
Replenishing play items
Filing patient paperwork and medical records
Coordination of activities in ward management :
Ensures the “get well” cards are delivered to the proper room.
Carry out daily routine clerical duties under direction of the co-ordinating nurse
Check and maintain adequate levels of consumables, supplies, stationary on the ward/day
Assist with typing duties for all clinical, medical and nursing departments as requested
Deal with Pharmacy requests forms and specimens to respective departments
Oversee the linen stock for patient care
Prefer: Diploma or graduate with nursing background
Fluent in reading, writing and Spoken English
Communication and interpersonal skills
Prioritise work load and be flexible to changing demands
IT skills
Organisational skills
Ability to Work in a busy environment
Work with different members of the multi-professional team
