Specific duties and responsibilities
To plan, organize and direct all repair and maintenance operations with emphasis on preventive maintenance
To implement repair and maintenance strategies and action plans to ensure timely production support
To ensure attainment of business objectives and repair and maintenance scheduling to ensure optimal plant operations
To optimize human resource utilization within the department
To establish individual and group accountabilities throughout the department for assigned tasks
To keep up to date with and implement new repair and maintenance concepts and procedures
To optimize occupational safety and health with the department
To identify and highlight to management departmental training needs, staff motivation and discipline

Requirements
Qualifications
Relevant university degree
At least 5 years proven practical experience in a similar position in a manufacturing organization
Proven skills in the use of computers as a working and reporting tool
Certification for relevant seminars/workshops attended is an added advantage
An effective team leader with stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making capabilities
Excellent understanding of the full repair and maintenance and project management mix
High level of integrity
Strong communication skills.
