The primary focus of this PhD fellowship is the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. This research aims to advance our understanding of how AI technologies can be designed and implemented to enhance human learning experiences in both formal and flexible educational settings. The significance of this work lies in its potential to:

Project Details
The successful candidate will join the Learner-Computer Interaction lab at NTNU’s Department of Computer Science and contribute to the newly established AI Centre for the Empowerment of Human Learning (AI LEARN). This PhD fellowship is one of two positions in a university-wide initiative titled “Human-AI symbiosis as a means to tackle societal challenges,” which is part of the NTNU Fellesskap / NTNU Community. The project is embedded in a nationwide network of PhD and postdoctoral researchers, with further fellowships to be announced soon, fostering a rich collaborative environment.
The Research Will Explore
– The dynamics of human-AI collaboration in educational contexts.
– The societal and ethical implications of AI integration in schools.
– Design strategies for sustainable and responsible AI systems in education.
