Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and personalised language lessons online using Zoom or Google Meet.

Help students improve speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills

Design lesson plans and adapt learning materials to suit student needs

Share cultural insights that deepen students' understanding of the language

Use recommended tools (Google Classroom, Quizlet, Canva, Kahoot, etc.) for lesson delivery

Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and student-centred teaching practices

Encourage student participation through interactive and immersive methods

Requirements:

Have native or near-native fluency in the language(s) you teach

Comfortable teaching online using Zoom and collaborative platforms

Strong communication skills and a positive, encouraging attitude

Experience teaching (formally or informally) or is a confident communicator

Passionate about language, culture, and helping others learn

Can work independently and is proactive in lesson planning

Additional skills:

Can explain concepts in an African language to beginner learners

Have experience teaching diaspora communities or immigrants

Have a background in education, linguistics, translation, or interpreting
