Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

To oversees, manages the day-to-day operations of fertilizer production (straight, mixture, compaction) within the plant and ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

Other Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop production schedules and plans to meet the demand for fertilizer products. Coordinate with other departments such as procurement, logistics and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.

Resource Management: Manage resources including manpower, machinery and raw materials to optimize production efficiency and minimize costs. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure adequate stock levels.

Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all fertilizer products meet regulatory standards and customer requirements. Conduct regular quality checks throughout the production process and implements corrective actions as needed.

Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment for employees. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections and implement measures to address any identified hazards or risks.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, optimization to increase productivity, reduce breakdowns and material wastage. Implement new technologies or methodologies where applicable to enhance production efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and reports for management review. Analyse production data to identify trends, performance throughput and areas for improvement.

Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, handling contractor, quality assurance and sales to coordinate production activities and address any issues or concerns that may arise.

Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for production staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement within the production team.

Requirement:

Possessed at least Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.

Has previous experience in fertilizer production or similar manufacturing environment.

Has excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
