Responsibilities

Office IT Support

• Initial setup and security hardening of employee laptops/desktops (OS installation, permissions, security tools)

• Troubleshooting common office equipment issues (printers, network, monitors, etc.)

• Basic software installation, account management, and user support

System & Server Maintenance

• Assist in initializing and configuring servers (installing OS, setting up networks)

• Write basic SaltStack modules for system automation

• Support hardware monitoring and alert rule implementation/testing

DevOps Support Tasks

• Help maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI)

• Write scripts and automation tools to streamline deployment and reduce manual tasks

• Support the development team with deployment, environment configuration, and troubleshooting

• Stay up to date with emerging DevOps tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, Terraform) and help apply them

Onboarding & Offboarding Support

• Assist in creating user accounts and preparing IT equipment for new hires

• Execute offboarding tasks such as device return, data wipe, and access revocation

Requirements

• Familiarity with Linux systems and basic scripting (Shell or Python preferred)

• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) is a plus

• Understanding of DevOps workflows and automation practices is a bonus

• Experience with Django or Flask frameworks is a plus

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform) is advantageous

• Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and willingness to learn

• Students in Computer Science, IT, or related majors preferred
