Your Role:

As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will play a vital role in delivering our mission, showcasing our core values, and providing authentic care for our patients. Once you successfully pass the FPGEE and TOEFL, you can apply for this internship to fulfill your required US Internship hours. This role will enhance your pharmacy knowledge, skills, and abilities through a comprehensive mixed modality learning plan tailored to your pharmacy background. You will need to complete your internship in 18 months and will develop competencies in patient care, practice management, leadership, education, and prepare for the Pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days post-internship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment.

• Focus on patient safety, pharmacy professional practices, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and workflow management (excluding final prescription verification).

• Lead with empathy—demonstrate compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and your team members.

• Support your Pharmacy manager in motivating and developing Pharmacy Support Staff while maximizing their strengths.

• Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve pharmacy performance, working towards shared goals.

• Adapt to changes in a dynamic healthcare setting, seeking collaborative ways to achieve better outcomes.

• Foster a team culture that promotes enthusiasm, care, and professionalism.

• Utilize acquired knowledge to promote healthy outcomes, differentiating CVS from competitors.

Customer Service Tasks:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries.

• Answer calls with a friendly demeanor and solve customer concerns effectively.

• Remove obstacles to enhance customer experiences.

• Handle cash register transactions professionally.

• Create heartfelt connections with customers during their visits.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.

• Comply with all federal, state, and CVS regulations and standards.

Pharmacy Operations:

• Adhere to CVS workflow while processing prescriptions accurately.

• Resolve third-party rejections and maintain inventory management.

• Assist with health care services as permitted by regulations.

• Support the pharmacist in dispensing and compliance monitoring.

Counseling (under supervision):

• Direct customers to appropriate pharmacists for counseling.

• Gather relevant patient medical histories for optimal care.

Leadership Duties:

• Participate in store meetings and foster operational efficiency.

• Coordinate training for Pharmacy Support Staff and celebrate successes.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a Non-US accredited pharmacy school.

• Active Pharmacy Intern license in your state.

Preferred:

• Eligibility to immunize.

Experience:

Required: 0-3 years; Preferred: 3-5 years.

Essential Skills:

• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

• Results-oriented mindset.

• Effective questioning and active listening skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Regular attendance including nights and weekends.

• Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.
