About the internship Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Actively engage with Safecity's online chats & spaces by responding to comments, messages, and mentions. 2. Coordinate with the communication officer to ensure participation during the Safecity chats & space. 3. Encourage discussions and interactions on posts, fostering a positive and inclusive environment. 4. Identify and engage with influencers, partners, and community leaders who can amplify Safecity's message. Who can apply Only those candidates can apply who: 1. are available for the work from home job/internship 2. can start the work from home job/internship between 4th Sep'24 and 9th Oct'24 3. are available for duration of 3 months 4. have relevant skills and interests Safecity is a platform that crowdsources personal stories of sexual harassment and abuse in public spaces. This data, which may be anonymous, gets aggregated as hot spots on a map indicating trends at a local level. The idea is to make this data useful for individuals, local communities, and the local administration to identify factors that cause behavior leading to violence and work on strategies for solutions. Since our launch on 26th December 2012, we have collected almost 9000 stories from over 50 cities in India, Nepal, Kenya, and Cameroon. Safecity aims to make cities safer by encouraging equal access to public spaces for everyone, especially women, through the use of crowdsourced data and technology.
