About the role LOCS Online is seeking a highly motivated ESG & Carbon Verification Analyst (Intern) to support our team in conducting data audits, emissions validation, and compliance checks. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in carbon accounting, ESG frameworks, and sustainability assurance processes. As an intern, you will assist in reviewing our ESG and carbon emissions data, verifying methodologies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and voluntary reporting standards such as GHG Protocol, IFRS S2, CDP, TCFD, and ISO 14064. You will get an exposure to our sustainability and compliance matters to assess data quality and contribute to improving ESG disclosure practices. Key Responsibilities • Assist in reviewing and analysing ESG and carbon emissions data, ensuring completeness and consistency. • Support data audits and quality checks to assess the reliability of sustainability metrics. • Help validate emissions calculations and methodologies against GHG Protocol, SBTi, and other reporting standards. • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in ESG data reporting. • Conduct research on best practices, regulatory updates, and industry benchmarks in ESG verification. • Assist in compiling verification reports, findings, and recommendations for improving ESG reporting accuracy. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction strategies. Who Should Apply? (Qualifications & Skills Required) Educational Background: • Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. • Coursework or projects in carbon accounting, ESG reporting, or sustainability analytics is a plus. Technical & Analytical Skills: • Strong data analysis and auditing skills with attention to detail. • Familiarity with carbon accounting methodologies (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, PAS 2060, Life Cycle Assessment). • Basic knowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks (TCFD, CSRD, CDP, GRI, SASB). • Experience working with Excel, Power BI, or data visualisation tools is preferred.
