Job Description

Job description Join Us in Making a Lasting Impact with Booksthakam Foundation! At Booksthakam Foundation, we envision a world where literacy, creativity, and writing are accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. We are committed to uplifting reading and writing as powerful tools for both personal and societal growth, with a particular focus on supporting writers from underprivileged communities. Our Mission: We believe in the transformative power of the written word and work toward building a society that celebrates education and creativity. Our initiatives aim to make reading, writing, and education inclusive and accessible for all. What We Do: • Enhancement of Tribal Education: Supporting the establishment and development of study centers across Kerala to provide quality education and resources to tribal communities. • Promoting Reading & Writing in Schools: Encouraging literacy and creativity by organizing workshops, donating books, and conducting writing programs in schools across South India. • Publishing Works of Underprivileged Children: Empowering young talents by publishing their stories and ideas, giving them a platform to shine and share their voices with the world. Internship Opportunity: We're excited to announce a one-month Paid Internship that allows students and people from Trivandrum to engage with Community Learning Centers and make a meaningful impact. Key Activities Include: • Community Learning Centers (Samuhyapadanamuri): Interns will visit 34 community learning centers in the tribal areas of Trivandrum District to assess the educational needs of tribal students. You’ll generate reports to help us improve resources and support for these communities while engaging students in interactive sessions such as career orientation, games, and creative activities. • Publishing Potential: A crucial part of the internship is identifying students with potential for publishing their works. By analyzing these hidden talents, you will connect them with our publishing initiatives, helping them share their voices with the world. • Fundraising (Minimum of 50 Donations of ₹31): Interns are expected to raise a minimum of 50 donations of ₹31 during a 7-10 day period. The funds raised will support the establishment and development of study centers across Kerala, providing quality education and resources to tribal communities. • Literary Agent Role (Booksthakam India, Booksthakam UK & Cogitabund LLP): Interns will also have the chance to participate as literary agents, identifying potential authors for our publishing houses. If a referred author’s work is selected, you’ll receive commissions and royalties based on the publication! Who Can Join? • Students pursuing BSW, MSW, or any other social science field. • Students and professionals from any field with a passion for social impact and literacy can apply. • People from Trivandrum are especially encouraged to join as the internship involves field visits to tribal areas and community learning centers. Why Join Us? • Certificate of Completion and a Letter of Recommendation based on performance. • Hands-on experience working with tribal communities and community learning centers. • Networking opportunities with industry professionals and fellow interns. • Flexible, remote work with a focus on social impact. • Opportunities to participate in publishing and fundraising initiatives.
