Outreach Officer

About the internship Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities: 1. Develop and manage Red Dot Foundation's outreach campaigns in neighborhoods and academic institutions 2. Facilitate community-driven interventions to address hyperlocal issues of sexual violence through data aggregation, focus group discussions, campaign meetings, and sessions 3. Engage stakeholders in improving public space safety to strengthen institutional accountability and build leadership potential in communities and partner organizations 4. Train and build the capacity of partner organizations to address sexual violence in public spaces through data-supported, community-oriented programs 5. Conduct awareness workshops with communities, organizations, academic institutions, and corporates on sexual harassment, child sexual abuse, and relevant legislation 6. Document outreach campaign progress effectively by creating casebooks and digital materials for online research and scaling 7. Participate in on-ground events and workshops to further outreach efforts Who can apply Only those candidates can apply who: 1. are available for the work from home job/internship 2. can start the work from home job/internship between 16th Jan'25 and 20th Feb'25 3. are available for duration of 3 months 4. have relevant skills and interests Safecity is a platform that crowdsources personal stories of sexual harassment and abuse in public spaces. This data, which may be anonymous, gets aggregated as hot spots on a map indicating trends at a local level. The idea is to make this data useful for individuals, local communities, and the local administration to identify factors that cause behavior leading to violence and work on strategies for solutions. Since our launch on 26th December 2012, we have collected almost 9000 stories from over 50 cities in India, Nepal, Kenya, and Cameroon. Safecity aims to make cities safer by encouraging equal access to public spaces for everyone, especially women, through the use of crowdsourced data and technology.
