About the job Key responsibilities: 1. Hardware Troubleshooting and Repair: a. Diagnosing and fixing hardware issues (e.g., motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drives, SSDs, screens, keyboards). b. Replacing faulty components. 2. Software Troubleshooting: a. Identifying and resolving software problems, including operating system issues, malware removal, and software installations. b. Knowledge of various operating systems, especially Windows, macOS, and potentially Linux. 3. Networking: a. Basic networking skills to troubleshoot connectivity issues. b. Understanding of Wi-Fi configurations and network protocols. 4. Customer Service: a. Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical clients. b. Professionalism and patience in dealing with customers. 5. Tools and Equipment: a. Proficiency with tools commonly used in laptop repair, such as screwdrivers, multimeters, and diagnostic software. 6. Data Recovery: a. Techniques for recovering data from damaged or corrupted hard drives. 7. Continued Learning: a. Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology trends and updates in laptop hardware and software. 8. Documentation and Reporting: a. Maintaining records of repairs, parts used, and customer interactions.
