We work amongst farmers, women, and migrant workers. IPS researches rural and urban distress. In the past, research has identified gaps in welfare and identified structured interventions through Rural Distress Reports (RDRs) and Urban Distress Reports (UDRs). While the UDRs have assessed poverty and unemployment in the slums of Delhi, the RDRs have tracked farmer suicide households and farmer households in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana.
