About the internship Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Security monitoring: Continuously monitor networks, systems, and applications for security breaches or suspicious activities using tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management). 2. Risk assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and weaknesses. 3. Incident response: Develop and implement incident response plans to quickly address security breaches and minimize impact. 4. Firewall management: Configure, monitor, and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security devices to protect the organization's network. 5. Security policies: Develop, update, and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. 6. Data protection: Implement and maintain data encryption, backup, and recovery procedures to safeguard sensitive information. 7. Access control: Manage user access controls and permissions, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive data and systems. 8. Security training: Provide security awareness training to employees to promote safe practices and reduce the risk of human error. 9. Threat intelligence: Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and apply this knowledge to strengthen the organization's security posture. 10. Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with relevant security regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS, and participate in audits and assessments.
