About the internship 1. Conceptualization and Ideation: 1a) Generate a range of design ideas through sketching, brainstorming, and mood boards. 1c) Develop initial concepts into detailed 3D models using SolidWorks 2. Design Development and Refinement: 2a) Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing. 2b) Collaborate with engineers to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. 2c) Select appropriate materials and finishes based on product requirements and aesthetics. 2d) Build physical prototypes to test ergonomics, functionality, and aesthetics. 2e) Refine designs based on user feedback, testing, and engineering constraints. 3. Collaboration and Communication: 3a) Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, clearly articulating design decisions. 3b) Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, engineering, production) throughout the product development process. 3c) Effectively communicate design ideas and technical information through presentations, reports, and visualizations. 4. Research and Analysis: 4a) Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and preferences. 4b) Analyze market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies. 4c) Stay informed about advancements in materials, manufacturing processes, and design tools. 5. Product Data Generation 5a) Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other product 6. Project Management: 6a) Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. 6b) Maintain organized design files and documentation. 6c) Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and workflows.
