About the internship Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Extracting Data: Collect and aggregate data from various public data sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy. 2. Collaborating with Teams: Work closely with other teams to understand their data requirements, providing tailored data solutions to meet their needs. 3. Data Science Life Cycle Execution: Participate in various stages of the data science life cycle, including data scraping, cleaning, validation, analysis, and visualization. Use tools like Python, SQL, and popular data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy). 4. Building Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain data pipelines that run in production, ensuring timely creation and updates of datasets. Implement automation scripts to streamline data processing. A well-known data journalism portal, Factly produces policy explainers and different YouTube series on policy matters and fake news. Factly Labs is the technology wing at Factly that works on various solutions for journalism tech. Factly Labs was started to primarily address the technology needs at Factly, but we quickly realized that the solutions developed for Factly would benefit media organizations of all sizes. We have since developed various open-source projects and will continue to develop more solutions while building a vibrant open-source community around these projects. A young team of committed individuals hailing from diverse backgrounds makes up Factly.
