About the internship Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Expertise in Arbitration Laws: Strong knowledge of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 2. Experience in Dispute Resolution: Practical experience in resolving disputes across various sectors, such as commercial contracts, intellectual property, family law, and more, with a focus on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms. 3. Knowledge of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR): Familiarity with emerging ODR platforms in India and knowledge of platforms like Sama, Resolution Centre, or UNDP's ODR initiative. A familiarity with NITI Aayog's ODR framework would be beneficial. 4. Legal and Procedural Knowledge: Understanding of the legal and procedural aspects of arbitration in India. Qualifications/Experience: 1. Legal Qualifications: A law degree (preferably LLB) and possibly additional certification in arbitration (e.g., from the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation or Indian Council of Arbitration). 2. Experience as an Arbitrator: Practical experience acting as an arbitrator, preferably with previous cases in areas like commercial contracts, IP disputes, or family law matters. 3. Training/Certification: Certification in arbitration. Membership in professional arbitration bodies like the Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA)or Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Who can apply Only those candidates can apply who: 1. are available for the work from home job/internship 2. can start the work from home job/internship between 28th Dec'24 and 1st Feb'25 3. are available for duration of 6 months 4. have relevant skills and interests * Women wanting to start/restart their career can also apply.
