Job Description

About the internship A leading childcare organization in Chennai is seeking interns for a 3-month period. This is an opportunity to serve the society! Bala Mandir's unique Kinship Care program was launched in July 2021 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program aims to support children who have lost one or both parents and are now in the care of a relative or guardian. Understanding the significant negative impact this loss can have on the children, especially those from socio-economically weaker backgrounds, we have been providing support through dedicated field social workers. This support includes paying their tuition fees and offering various forms of assistance to the children and their families. Over the past 3 years, the program has expanded to cover children who have lost parents due to other causes and now includes over 1500 children across 14 districts. Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Provide administrative back-end support during the fundraising campaign for the Kinship Care program. 2. Coordinate effectively with the Kinship Care team by working from the office. 3. Assist in organizing and executing campaign-related tasks to ensure a successful fundraising effort. Requirements: MS Office working knowledge (Word, Excel, and E-mailing) certificate - can be provided. Who can apply Only those candidates can apply who: 1. are available for the part time job/internship 2. can start the part time job/internship between 9th Oct'24 and 13th Nov'24 3. are available for duration of 3 months 4. are from or open to relocate to Chennai and neighboring cities 5. have relevant skills and interests Bala Mandir started in 1949, and it is today a premier social welfare organization that has, over the years, sheltered thousands of orphans and destitute and socio-economically deprived children. Besides a children's home, Bala Mandir runs schools for the needy section and supports children with intellectual disabilities. Kinship Care Programme. This program was launched in July 2021 as a fallout of the then-raging COVID-19 pandemic to support children who lost one or both parents, which left them in the care of a mother or kith and kin. We started supporting the children through dedicated field social workers by paying their tuition fees and helping the children and families in various ways.
