Brief Job Description

COOi requires a UI/UX Intern to assist with solving problems and enhancing user experience through innovative solutions. The incumbent will be responsible to support the UI/UX Analyst with utilising design tools and industry trends to assist with projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, business analysis, information systems or a related field.

Working experience not required.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the design research analysts and technology developers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.

Support the execution of all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off.

Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.

Assist with creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers.

Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback.

Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.

Understand product specifications and user psychology.

Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.

Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs.

Solve UX problems, such as usability or findability, using a creative approach.

Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers.

Work on data analytics platforms to better understand user engagement on products.

Skills and Attributes

Research Skills: Understanding user needs, behaviors, and challenges to inform design decisions.

Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effectively conveying design ideas, rationale, and findings to stakeholders and developers.

Collaboration: Working effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (familiarity with tools like Adobe XD, Figma, and Sketch).

Empathy: Understanding and relating to user needs and challenges.

Critical Thinking: Analysing design problems and developing effective solutions.

Problem-solving: Identifying and resolving design issues to create a seamless user experience.

Attention to Detail: Ensuring consistency and accuracy in design execution.

Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in UI/UX design.

Reports to: UI/UX Analyst

Start Date: ASAP
