SAICA Trainees - Hillcrest

Introduction Our client, a firm of Registered Auditors and Chartered Accountants with offices in Hillcrest Durban, has an exciting opportunity for young dynamic and vibrant SAICA Trainee Accountants looking to become Chartered Accountants. Duties & Responsibilities Produce client reports (AFS, minutes, certificates, management letter) Assist managers in identifying material issues Communicate professionally with clients Perform audit tasks timeously Be proactive in obtaining reliable and sufficient evidence for all audit procedures Exercise professional judgement Complete tax returns Perform other non-audit tasks as required Manage personal performance and learning trajectory Pass all tests and exams required to qualify for the ITC and APC within the prescribed period and number of attempts Complete regular rating assessments as outlined by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants Work effectively in teams Uphold company ethics and values and act with integrity Write clearly and succinctly Set clear objectives and plan activities Work productively and in a challenging environment Completing work with due care Ensuring a productivity rate of 75% is maintained monthly (i.e. 75% of the time spent on billable work) Desired Experience & Qualification Matric with good results Must have obtained a recognised SAICA accredited degree or be set to complete the degree by the end of 2025 (National Diplomas will not be considered) Must be starting with, or continuing with CTA 1 or CTA 2 in 2025 Based in the Durban area, NO RELOCATIONS. Must have a passion for accounting, and auditing and display such enthusiasm in becoming a CA Must have a valid driver’s license and own car and must be a REGULAR driver. Willing to travel within South Africa and “be away from home” for up to 4 weeks at a time Willingness to work overtime during peak times Must have excellent computer skills (MS Office literate) Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Must be well-presented and well-spoken Package & Remuneration Salary is dependent on experience and qualification (R 11,000 – R 13,000)
