Job Description
Job Title: Radar Specialist Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Radar Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, analysis, and enhancement of radar systems. This role demands a strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, signal processing, and system integration. Key Responsibilities: • Operate, calibrate, and maintain radar systems used for surveillance, tracking, navigation, or weather observation. • Analyze radar data and provide detailed reports and system assessments. • Design, develop, or improve radar hardware and software components. • Integrate radar systems with other electronic systems and ensure seamless functionality. • Troubleshoot technical issues in both hardware and software components of radar equipment. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, RF engineers, and system integrators. • Conduct field tests and simulations to validate radar performance under various scenarios. • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in radar systems and signal processing. • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and operational standards. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred for senior roles). • Proven experience with radar system operation and/or development. • Solid knowledge of radar principles, RF technology, digital signal processing (DSP), and electromagnetic wave propagation. • Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or radar simulation software. • Familiarity with radar signal processing algorithms and techniques. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-stakes environment. • Security clearance may be required depending on the project. Preferred Qualifications (Optional): • Experience with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Pulse-Doppler radar, or phased array systems. • Knowledge of military or aerospace radar standards. • Hands-on experience with radar testing equipment like spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, or signal generators. Working Conditions: • May require field work and occasional travel. • May involve working in secure or high-risk environments depending on project scope.
