Job Spec POSITION: Logistics Intern LOCATION: Durbanville A logistics intern in the fruit and cold storage industry typically supports various aspects of the supply chain, ensuring the efficient movement and storage of perishable goods. Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and managing inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Order Processing: Help process orders, including picking, packing, and shipping. Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and other logistics data. Coordination: Work with suppliers, transporters, and warehouse staff to coordinate the movement of goods. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet industry standards. Documentation: Prepare and manage shipping documents, including bills of lading and customs paperwork. Reporting: Generate reports on logistics performance and identify areas for improvement. Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, especially regarding the handling of perishable goods. Qualifications: Education: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience: Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is a plus. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
